About Becoming Truly Eco-friendly!
Many of us invest in buying huge and expensive products to be awarded with a “Miss/Mr. Eco-friendly” tag, however the point is that it is not just good enough to be aware and inclined towards contributing towards a greener society. Awareness needs to be compounded to know that by doing even small things at home and making a slight lifestyle change one can become eco-friendly. There are some best practices like switching off electricity and water when not using and using products, manure and pesticides that are green certified. There are however some not so common and perhaps ‘not so pleasant’ (as per some), practices that can reap good results towards your eco-friendly initiatives.

The end objective is the same i.e. to save water, electricity, create a greener world around you, however the approach and the method you apply to achieve the end goal varies. Given below are some examples of what you can do to get a greener sphere around you.
Buy a ‘green certified’ product or not buy at all?
Some products sold in the market have an eco labelling, but are you sure your life is so dependent on them that you cannot do without them? A cloth dryer, that has passed the green certification, for example, may not really be a must have and instead dry your clothes under the sun directly!
The point is the dryer still uses power and direct sun-dry is any day a better alternative so it is important to divert your investment and choices in the right direction. The idea is not to discourage buying any product, but understanding your need first and of course running a natural eco-friendly practice before spending the extra bucks, which may not even be a complete eco-buy!
Use the Flush Wisely!
Wash your sin without a miss, but may be not your Compost, actually on second thoughts do not sin at the first place! On a more serious you may make use of the flush only if it is necessary.
Infact people in some parts of the world in small and large habitats, in cheap or expensive houses already practice optimal flush use to save water. Majority of the population is for now, lucky to be using water without any limitations, but it is only a matter of time when the luxury will convert to restricted usage so preservation from the very moment will be useful in the future. This also applies to optimizing water usage on clothes, utensils, bathing yourself and your pet.
Compost as Manure?
Why not? Mammal manure of course including human, is the best form of fertilizer for your flowers, plans and trees and need you be told it is free?
The next time you have a bowel movement or you take your dog for a walk, think about how the compost can be processed internally to produce the finest manure. There are numerous books and experts available who can help you manage your home production in the most clean and efficient way possible. Infact, there are also special toilets that process the compost into the end product for your garden. Well this may be disgusting for some but who cares !
Finally, if everyone does their bit and realizes how, what we do today, affects our tomorrow, then the world will be a much greener place to live, not just in the present but also the future. There are good chances that everyone gets to live a non-restricted life by retaining nature in its abundance whether it is water or any other natural resource.
